This calculator scales a paint tint formula from one can size to another. Here's what everything on screen does.

🔽 The three dropdowns
From — the can size the formula was originally written for.
To — the can size you want it scaled to.
Base — White 1, Medium 2, or Deep 3. Required, since it's used to double-check your total tint amount isn't unusually high for that size can.
🎨 Entering the formula
Pick a color code from each row's dropdown, then enter its amount in ounces, drops, or both (1 oz = 384 drops). Leave a row blank to skip it.
📁 File Management
Opens the full list of formulas you've saved. Tap a formula's name to load it; each row also has Export (download just that one), Clone (duplicate it), Rename, and Del.
Use the search bar and tag filter at the top to narrow the list, and Sort to reorder it (A→Z, Z→A, or by tag).
At the bottom: Export Tint downloads every formula you have, Export Tag downloads just the ones matching your tag filter, Backup All downloads everything including custom tints (good to run before clearing browser data), and Import loads formulas back in from a file.
🔘 The main buttons
New — clears everything on screen so you can start a fresh formula.
Save — saves exactly what's currently in the table (see "Saving a formula" below for the full dialog).
Calculate — scales the formula from the From size to the To size and shows you the result.
🎨 Tint Manager
Opened from the Tint button, top-right. The Active Tint dropdown at the top switches which paint line's color codes you're using — this also switches which saved formulas you see, since they're tied to whichever tint was active when saved.
To add a store or paint line that isn't already listed, use Add New Tint: enter its Name (e.g. "Sherwin-Williams"), pick how many Color Codes it uses (10/12/14/16), then type in each code by hand. Tap Save Tint when done.
Any tint you've added shows up in a list below with Edit and Delete — Edit reopens the same form to change its name or codes; deleting a tint doesn't delete formulas saved under it, they're just hidden until you recreate it.
⚙️ Headroom — sets the tint-load advisory numbers (see "The headroom note" below) for whichever tint is active. Behr/Glidden's own numbers are the built-in default and are never changed; use this if you're setting up a different paint line's numbers. Reset to Behr Defaults repopulates the table without saving until you tap Save.
🏷️ Tags — controls which tags show up in the Tag dropdown when saving a formula (see "Saving a formula" below). Check or uncheck the built-in tags, or add up to 10 of your own. Unchecking a tag only hides it going forward — any formula already saved under it keeps that tag and still shows it (marked "hidden") when you filter File Management by "All Tags".
🔤 Text Size — cycles A- / A / A+ to shrink or grow the text throughout the app (tables, buttons, results). Your choice is remembered. Nothing else on screen resizes — just the text.
💾 Saving a formula
Tap Save to open the Save dialog: give the formula a Title, optionally pick a Tag to categorize it (School/College/NASCAR/Client-Customer/your own custom tags — see Manage Tags above), and optionally fill in the Client/Customer line for a customer name, address, PO#, or anything else you want attached to that formula.
Saving over a title that already exists asks you to confirm before overwriting it.
Loading a saved formula locks its inputs so you don't change it by accident — tap the Edit button that appears above the table to unlock it for changes.
📌 Recent formulas
A row of quick-access buttons appears above the table on the home screen once you've loaded or saved at least one formula under the active tint — tap one to load it instantly. It only shows formulas belonging to whichever tint is currently active.
✅ After you calculate
You'll see the scaled amounts for each color. From there you can Save the result, Resize to try a different size, Print a clean copy, or go Home to start over.
Resize always takes you back to your original entered amounts — not the amounts from whatever size you just calculated — so switching sizes repeatedly never drifts away from the formula as written.
The headroom note — a green note means your total tint for this size/base is within the set headroom; an amber note means it's above it and there's a risk of overflowing the can. These are averages, not an exact limit for every paint, so treat it as a caution rather than a hard rule.
